We are a non-denominational group of like-minded people; willing and happy to welcome peoples from all walks of life, religious beliefs, philosophies and lifestyles. We do not judge nor discriminate. Spiritualism has no creed, rules or doctrines that people are forced or compelled to believe. There is no right or wrong in an individuals perception in regard to what Spiritualism is. The above Seven Principles are guidelines only, open to interpretation by all and any persons. They have been adopted by the Australian Spiritualist Union (of Churches) (A.S.U.), and therefore through our affiliation with the A.S.U.; the Seven Principles are included as part of our Church’s mode of interpretation. It is up to the individual to accept them or not. Our service/meeting is loosely based upon the protestant format with a few subtle differences. We sing songs, not hymns. We like to laugh a lot and we see ourselves more as a family than a congregation. We have a healing book from which the names of family and friends are read during the healing prayer. We have a short talk on Crystals given by Helen, our assistant Minister. We also have a guided meditation, usually led by Rev. Richard, our Minister. We have guest mediums as often as we can arrange and manage to do the podium and share their gifts of connection with/to Spirit to pass on messages to individuals from loved ones who have died and crossed over. Mediums use varying gifts from Spirit to give messages or help to those who have come to receive them. Some Mediums do psychometry (jewellery readings), flower readings, overheads (messages direct from Spirit.), singing or any other methods that Mediums are gifted with, to impart the messages from the Spirit realm.Rev. Richard and Helen are the people up front but do not own the Church, as it belongs to all who attend. We see others becoming more involved in the future; in the assistance of running our services as they grow in Spirit and confidence. The A.S.U. O.C. Spiritualist Church of Bowral commenced in October of 2005, in the CWA Hall in Wingecarribee St, Bowral.
The first Saturday of each month 2.00pm is Meditation/Healing at $10/person. Readings by apt. on this day also at $30/person.
The third Saturday evening service commences at 7:00 pm.
We like to have light refreshments after each meeting so that we can all get to know one another better and to welcome visitors and new people who have joined our growing family. What is a Spiritualist Church? Let’s use a quote from Rev. Richard, our Minister. “I, as the Minister of the Church, can only speak for myself and not our Church. I say OUR Church, for it is not MY Church. I am simply the person up the front who leads the way the meetings are run; along with my wife Helen who is invaluable in her role as Assistant Minister. Yes, I am more than that at times, but I am not the owner of our Church. I think a Spiritualist Church is, in the main, a place for like-minded people to come and share in what they believe, with love and light. We welcome people from all other denominations and philosophies; believing that we are all of one origin and that the way we perceive our origins is a personal thing, that should be respected by all peoples. Therefore, we do not think any one is more right than any other for how they believe. We ask only that we all respect one another’s belief structure without prejudice or argument.” Who is the Minister? The Reverend Richard Milne is the Minister of the A.S.U.O.C. Spiritualist Church of Bowral. Richard can perform the following duties and functions for any and all persons: - Funerals, Naming Ceremonies, Dedication of/to partners ceremonies, Vow Renewal Ceremonies, and Special ceremonies tailored to the needs of the individuals. It must be noted that Rev. Richard can only carry out Marriage Ceremonies in the presence of a licensed Celebrant, Minister, and/or Reverend etc.
GO ALWAYS IN LOVE AND LIGHT IN ALL YOU DO
