WHAT IS A SPIRITUALIST

Posted in Info Used for Development  by Spiritually Rich on September 9th, 2008

The following text is what was read for the Development Group. The author is Richard Milne and portrays his views on the subject. Some content may be paraphrased or re-used with permission. This does not mean it is the only way that this subject may be interpreted, as each Spiritualist is an Individual and will read, comprehend and understand any written information differently. This is the beauty of Spiritualism; no one person can claim to have all the answers!

WHAT IS A SPIRITUALIST?

We have many thoughts on this question and all are wrong and all are correct; depending upon which direction you are looking or listening from.

Simply stated, a Spiritualist is someone who believes that life does not end with the ending of our physical existence upon this plane. Which plane? This worldly one upon which we are experiencing our individual physical journey of course.

Rather, a Spiritualist believes that after our physical body passes on, our spiritual self (our soul, spirit etc) carries on forward to the next plane, dimension, or the spiritual plane. There it may decide to abide a while as pure spirit; or it may decide to take on another role.

Another role our spiritual being or essence may take is dependent upon many things, including our learning from this particular journey. But, we may decide upon a role of being a guide to someone else on a physical journey, a guardian angel, another physical journey or all the above on a different dimension or planet.

A Spiritualist can be a Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Mohammedan, Callithumpian or any or every other religious or philosophical persuasion.

A Spiritualist also believes that once we have passed over to that other level, plane, place of being etc; that we here still living in this physical plane, are able to communicate with those passed over. “I can see dead people”, and talk to and with them. We can receive messages from them also, to pass on to those still of this dimension to hear. The possibilities are myriad and seemingly endless.

Spiritualism has no Dogma. Spiritualism has no Doctrine. Spiritualism has no rules and/or set defining tenets of belief structure. We all have the same philosophy however of sharing with like-minded peoples and sharing and giving of and to one another.

We, as Spiritualists, have one real goal in life I think. That is to ensure every other soul we come in contact with is enriched or helped by coming into contact with us as individuals; or as a group of like minded persons who come together to shed love and light into and about this world we live on.

We have a set of guidelines that are used only as that, a guide to how we can centre ourselves in our everyday life as a Spiritualist. For everything we do in this existence affects us and others. These guidelines themselves are open to interpretation and to being re-written to reflect our modern way of thinking and working with Spirit. Everything changes and when it does not, it stagnates and becomes stale and unpalatable.

So what is a Spiritualist? You are one, I am one, the next person you meet is one. The difference between myself and others, in the main, is that I KNOW I am a Spiritualist.

LOVE N LIGHT TO ALL
